Notice of Passing of Development Charge By-Laws
Development Charges Act, 1997, S.O. 1997, c.27

Take notice that the Council of The Corporation of the Town of Markham passed By-laws Nos. 2009-120 on June 23, 2009 pursuant to Section 2 of the Development Charges Act, 1997, S.O. 1997, c.27. The aforementioned by-law came into force and effect on June 23, 2009.

The aforementioned by-law is a town-wide by-law setting development charge rates for residential and non-residential development for certain services on a municipal-wide basis.

The develoment charges established through By-law No. 2009-120 are as follows, on a per unit basis for residential development and on a per square metre basis for non-residential development.

And take notice that any person or organization may appeal to the Ontario Municipal Board in respect of any of the by-laws by filing with the Clerk of The Corporation of the Town of Markham, not later than Tuesday, August 4, 2009, a notice of appeal setting out the objection to the by-law or bylaws and the reasons in support of the objection.
