The Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) provides leadership to a full-time staff of approximately 900 who respond to issues created by the growing municipality of Markham and the high expectations that the public has for superior service delivery. The responsibilities of the CAO include overseeing municipal operations and ensuring Council's priorities and strategic directions are achieved. The CAO's Office includes:
Direct reports to the Chief Administrative Officer include the Commissioners of the Corporate Services, Community and Fire Services and Development Services, the Town Solicitor, the Director of the Human Resources and the the Director of the Sustainability Office.
The CAO & Commissioners' Committee (CCC) meets weekly to support the management of the Town's operations, provide strategic direction to the Town and address Town operations and issues.
