The Markham Sustainability Office champions sustainability throughout the organization and in the community in order to help create a healthy environment, a high quality of life for all, economic prosperity and social and cultural vibrancy.
To support this effort, the Sustainability Office is leading the creation of Markham’s long-term community sustainability plan, the Green Print.
The Green Print will establish Markham’s vision and goals for a sustainable future. It will be based on discussions with residents, community groups, businesses, other levels of government and municipal staff, and will establish targets and integrative strategies for Markham to implement from 2010 to 2050, and beyond.
