Birth Registrations
Every child born in Ontario must be registered with Ontario's Office of the Registrar General.
Parents with children born on or after February 23, 2009 should register their baby’s birth online at www.serviceontario.ca/newborn . Parents can also use the online service to apply for their newborn’s birth certificate and Social Insurance Number.
Registrations for children born before February 23, 2009 can be submitted to and processed by the Town of Markham Clerk’s Department. There is a fee of $26.00 for the registration of a newborn. When the birth is registered, the parents will receive a Notice of Birth Registration from the Office of the Registrar General, after which you can apply for a birth certificate.
