Bicycle Network |
Markham is on the road to becoming a bicycle-friendly community by developing a network of almost 400 km of on and off road bicycle routes. This initiatives is guided by Markham's Cycling Master Plan, developed with the assistance of a citizen committee - the Cycling and Pedestrian Advisory Committee - and with additional input from interested residents. When complete, the cycling network will include on-road signed routes and bicycle lanes, and off road multi-use pathways. Look for the new "bike route" signs installed on local streets and remember to "Share the Road" with cyclists. The Town of Markham recognizes the contribution of the Federal Gas Tax Initiatives to this project.

Bicycle Network Launched on June 9, 2007. (Read Media Release)
