  Maple Leaf  CANADA DAY FOOD DRIVE

You can help more than 1,000 neighbours in need. Please bring one non-perishable food item to Markham’s Canada Day Celebrations.

Please drop off your food item at the Markville Shopping centre shuttle location for the Milne Park Canada Day celebrations, or at the entrance to Milne Park between 3:00 - 8:00 p.m. on July 1.

A formal and prestigious beginning to Markham's Canada Day Celebrations!

Seniors at Canada Day Luncheon 1 The Mayor & Members of Council invite Markham Seniors to the
annual Canada Day Luncheon.

Thursday, July 1, 2010

Le Parc Conference Centre & Banquet Hall, 8432 Leslie St.
(southwest corner of Hwy 7 & Leslie St.)

Entertainment provided by
40 Something.

Space is limited.
Reserve your spot by June 21.

All shuttle buses are wheelchair accessible.

Come on your own or let us take you! Shuttle bus leaves at 11:30 a.m.

  Maple Leaf  People's Parade

Kids watching Canada Day Parade Parade Route:
NW corner McCowan Rd and Highway 7, travelling south 1/2 mile into Milne Park. 4:00 p.m. start

Enjoy colourful floats, dancers, entertainers and much more.

Children - Join the parade!  Decorate yourself, your bike or your wagon and meet at 3:00 p.m. at the southeast corner of Markville Shopping Centre! Children’s Parade line up number is 20.

Look for these parade participants :
Markham Fire Department, Town Crier, Chinese Lion Dancers, Mayor & Councillors, Federation of Chinese Canadians in Markham (FCCM), Markville Chevrolet Oldsmobile, Governor Generals Horse Guards Band and Governor Generals Horse Guards Cavalry Squadron.

 

Milne Park mapFree shuttle bus running every 15 mins between Markville Shopping Centre (McCowan and Highway 7) and Milne Park.

      Maple Leaf  Milne Park Party & Fireworks

    Flag raising, entertainment with an evening performance by Suzie McNeil and an appearance by Doo Doo the International Clown, children's activities, food and displays. There's something for everyone at Milne!

    Children's Activity Tent - 3:00 to 6:00 p.m.
    Children aged 3-10 are invited to enjoy the Canada Day themed crafts, colouring, face painting, cartooning and origami. Also enjoy watching Dr. Zonk, pioneer skill craft and magic tricks.

    Flag Raising Ceremony- 4:30 p.m.
    Gather near the flag pole at Milne Park, located east off of McCowan Rd, south of Hwy 7 and north of the 407, following the People's Parade as we raise the Canadian Flag.

    Suzie McNeil Entertainment - 12:00 p.m. to close
    The stage will come alive with hours of live entertainment representing the very best of Markham. Special performance by Suzie McNeil.

    Fireworks at dusk - approx. 10:00 p.m.
    Celebrate Canada's birthday with a dazzling display of light, colour and sound!  Look up to the east and watch in wonder as Markham's sky is alight with a magnificent display of fire and colour!
