• Bayview Reservoir
  Location: Southeast corner of Bayview Avenue and Sycamore Drive, North of Thornlea Secondary School.
  
  This 11.4 hectare (28 acre) park also serves as a water reservoir for the Thornhill community. Five soccer and two baseball (1 lighted) fields are found in the park, along with a playground. Ample parking. The adjacent Thornlea Secondary School has tennis courts and an indoor pool.
  
  
• Bishop's Cross Park
  Location: North of John Street, East of Leslie Street, East of R. J. Clatworthy Arena
  
  This 8 hectare (19 acre) park has two lighted baseball and soccer field, as well as a large playground. Numerous tournaments are held here, and it is the home for the Thornhill Soccer Club and Thornhill Baseball.
  
  
• German Mills Settlers Park
  Location: South of John Street, West of Leslie Street
  
  This 26 hectare (65 acre) natural area park is part of the German Mills Creek system. Within this peaceful walking area, a new gazebo commemorates the Millennium, the park has been planted over the past number of years by the Thornhill Summit Scouts. The open area on the West side of the creek was a gravel pit and a landfill site.
  
  
• Grandview Park
  Location: Grandview Avenue, West of Henderson Road
  
  This 3.25 hectare (8 acre) park has two ball diamonds(1 lighted), 2 lit tennis courts, playground and a woodlot.
  
  
• Huntington Park
  Location: Huntington Park Drive, East of Lambert Road
  
  This 11 hectare (27 acre) park has one ball diamond with lights, and two soccer fields (1 lit), junior and senior playgrounds, 0.7 kilometres of pathways and naturalized areas.
  
  
• Pomona Mills Park
  Location: North side of John Street, East and West of Henderson Avenue
  
  This beautiful 4.68 hectare (11.6 acre) park is part of the East Don Valley, and has a soccer pitch, playground, pathways and is home to the Pomona Valley Tennis Club. The Markham Conservation Committee, Thornhill H.S., Johnsview P.S., Thornhill Horticultural Society, and Thornhill Lions Club take an active role in reforesting this park on an annual basis, as part of the Don Regeneration Council.
  
  
• Royal Orchard Park
  Location: North side of Royal Orchard, North and South of Kirk Drive, East of Baythorn Drive
  
  This section of the East Don River has a .75 kilometre peaceful riverside pathway. The park has been adopted by the 7th Thornhill Scouts.
  
  
• Thornlea East Park
  Location: East side of Green Lane, East of Leslie Street
  
  This 5.5 hectare (13 acre) park is located by Little German Mills Creek, and has a playground, and soccer field.

• Austin Drive Park
  Location: North of Highway # 7, South of Austin Drive between the Kennedy By-pass and Bullock Drive
  
  This 5.58 hectare (13.8 acre) park is made of a large open space that contains a portion of the Rouge River, a wooded area, and two water bodies, the larger one to the east known as Waldon Pond. It is also the site of a forest regeneration area, with 2 kilometres of pathways. This is a lovely park for walking, running, and bird watching.
  
  
• Carlton Park
  Location: South of Carlton road, West of the Village Parkway
  
  This 7.28 hectare (18 acre) park has features such as a lighted baseball diamond, soccer field, playground and 9 tennis courts and is considered a high-use recreational park.
  
  
• Centennial Park
  Location: Northwest corner of McCowan and Bullock Drive, it is adjacent to Centennial Community Centre (8600 McCowan Road) and North of Markville Shopping Centre
  
  This 8 hectare (20 acre) park features two lighted ball diamonds, one soccer field and two play areas.
  
  
• Crosby Park
  Location: East of Crosby Community Centre, (210 Main Street Unionville)
  
  This 3.85 hectare (9.51 acre) park is bordered by Parkview Public School, Crosby Memorial Arena and Community Centre and the Unionville Curling club. Features include 3 baseball diamonds and a soccer field.
  
  
• John Button Waterway
  Location: North and South of John Button Boulevard, South of 16th Ave
  
  This naturalized 4.05 hectare (10 acre) park is an open space with pathways that connect from Apple Creek north to 16th Avenue.
  
  
• Markham Civic Centre
  Location:Beside the Markham Civic Centre at Town Centre Boulevard and Highway # 7
  
  This 11.5 hectare (28.3 acre) park features and impressive reflecting pond, fountain and extensive pathway system.
  
  
• Monarch Park
  Location: On Waterbridge Lane, North of Heatherwood Crescent
  
  This 3.1 hectare (7.66 acre) park is bordered by St. Matthew's Catholic School and combines both active and passive activities. Active facilities, including a baseball diamond and soccer field, are located near the north end of the park, and a natural area to the east.
  
  
• Quantztown Park
  Location: On Carlton Road, West of McCowan
  
  This 4.94 hectare (12.2 acre) active community park features junior and senior playgrounds, soccer field, a soccer field and 0.7 kilometres of pathways.
  
  
• Toogood Pond
  Location: between Carlton and Kennedy, behind Unionville Public School
  
  This 33.3 hectare (82.3 acre) park features a partially naturalized pond and marsh. A walkway circles the pond - a popular spot for leisurely walks. The pond has also recently undergone a Sediment Removal and Restoration Project including sediment removal, restoration of the shoreline, community plantings of native trees, shrubs and wildflowers and cascading pools to accommodate migrating fish.
  
  
• Victoria Square
  Location: 18th Avenue (Elgin Mills Road East) and Woodbine Avenue
  
  This 5.74 hectare (14.2 acre) park is used most often for its 2 baseball diamonds (1 lighted) and playground.

• Aldergrove Park
  Location: On Aldergrove Drive, South of Denison Street
  
  This 4.27 hectare (10.6 acre) park is bordered by Aldergrove Public School and St. Benedict Catholic School. The park has benches, walkways in addition to a baseball diamond, playground and 2 mini and 1 full size soccer fields.
  
  
• Armadale Park
  Location: South of Denison Street, West of McCowan Road at Armadale Community Centre (2401 Denison Street)
  
  This 5.7 hectare (14.1 acre) park has 1 baseball diamond, playground, 2 soccer fields, 4 tennis courts and a half basketball court, connected by a pathway system. The park is also home to the Armadale Tennis Club.
  
  
• Clark Young Woods
  Location: On Birchmount Road, just North of 14th Ave
  
  This 3.1 hectare (7.66 acre) park contains a peaceful woodlot and pathway.
  
  
• Denison Park
  Location: On the North side of Denison Street at Mallory Avenue, just East of Kennedy
  
  This 2.56 hectare (6.32 acre) park contains a baseball diamond, basketball court, playground and an attractive picnic area.

  Location: On Elson Street, East of Middlefield Road
  
  This 5.48 hectare (13.5 acre) neighbourhood park contains a baseball diamond, soccer field and basketball court, in addition to a natural woodlot. A walkway through Elson Park connects these facilities with benches and picnic tables.
  
  
• Highgate Park
  Location: Highgate Drive, East of Birchmount Road
  
  This 4.39 hectare (10.8 acre) park has 1 lighted baseball diamond, a playground, 1 soccer field and 6 tennis courts.
  
  
• James Edward
  Park Location: On Elson Street, across from James Edward Public School
  
  This 3.7 hectare (9.14 acre) park holds a baseball diamond, soccer field and a playground as well as a waterplay area, walkways, benches and a drinking fountain.
  
  
• Milliken Mills Park
  Location: South of the Kennedy Road and 14th Avenue intersection
  
  This 31.1 hectare (76.8 acre) park is bordered to the east by a Milliken Mill Community Centre, McDonalds's restaurant and Milliken Mills High School. It features 5 lighted baseball diamonds, 5 soccer fields (1 lighted), a playground, a water play facility and 2 basketball courts. In addition, it has playgrounds and picnicking. Park at the Milliken Mills Community Centre.
  
  
• Risebrough Park
  Location:On Risebrough Circuit, North of Empringham Crescent
  
  This 3.24 hectare (8 acre) park has 2 baseball diamonds, and a picnic shelter.

• Armstrong Park
  Location: On South side of Major Button's Drive, South of Highway # 7, West of Wootten Way
  
  This 3.16 hectare (7.8 acre) park is also associated with William Armstrong Public School and contains 2 baseball diamonds, a playground and 2 soccer fields.
  
  
• Cedar Valley
  Location: South and North sides of Raymerville Drive, just West of Snider Drive
  
  This 7.68-hectare (19-acre) park is has undergone an extensive restoration to regenerate the area into a more diverse natural area. Planned and planted by the Robinson Creek Restoration Committee and local schools, the park is home to many species of birds. A looped pathway and bridge makes this area accessible for bird watching.
  
  
• Milne Dam Conservation Park
  Location: On the East side of McCowan Road, just South of Highway # 7
  
  This 123-hectare (305-acre) park is the largest Markham park. It is bound by thick forest on the southern and eastern edges, with the Rouge River through the middle. The 2.3 kilometres of trails are suitable for walking, jogging and cycling. Milne Park is a stop off point for many migratory birds, and can be best viewed in the early mornings and evenings in spring and fall.
  
  York Region's first off-leash park area for dogs existed here as a pilot project from August 1, 2001 to September 1, 2002. Officially closed on July 31, 2003, a permanent Dog Leash-Free area opened at the northwest corner of Miller Avenue and Rodick Road. Read all about it.
  
  This park is well used for large group picnics. There is also a new modern picnic shelter that can accommodate 100 people. To reserve your groups' picnic area and/or the shelter, please contact our Permit Coordinator at 477-7000 ext. 7509 to obtain a permit or download a permit from our website.
  
  Fishing is allowed with a MNR fishing permit (available at bait shops and Canadian Tire stores). The park is open for vehicles from 8:00 am until dusk from Victoria Day weekend until Thanksgiving. Admission to the park is free during the week. A $5.00 parking fee is charged on weekends and statutory holidays.
  
  
• Mintleaf Park
  Location: On the North side of Fincham Avenue, East of Wootten Way
  
  This 8.49 hectare (21 acre) park contains a ball diamond, 2 soccer fields and playground.
  
  
• Morgan Park
  Location: Southeast corner of Parkway Avenue and George Street
  
  This 2.43 hectare (6 acre) park is home to the Markham Lawn bowling Club, which has 11 lanes, as well as Morgan Pool (public and outdoors). It also supports athletic activity with its baseball diamond, playground and 2 tennis courts.
  
  
• Mount Joy Lake
  Location: On 16th Avenue, just East of Highway # 48 adjacent to Brother Andre Catholic Secondary School
  
  This 6.53-hectare (16.6-acre) park has an outdoor skating rink in winter. The adjacent community centre houses a large indoor ice rink operating from Sept. - April, an indoor soccer facility and boardroom.
  
  
• Paramount Park
  Location: East side of Paramount Drive, Between Fincham Avenue south to Church Street
  
  This is a 4.76 hectare (11.8 acre) park. The waterway is a tributary of the Rouge River, with 0.66 km of pathways.
  
  
• Raybeck Park
  Location: On the North side of Raymerville Drive, West of Beck Drive
  
  This 4.12 hectare (10.2 acre) park features a baseball diamond, playground and soccer field. The walkway system connects to Springdale Park.
  
  
• Raymerville Woodlot
  Location: On the North side of Raymerville Drive, just West of Beck Drive
  
  This 17.4-hectare (43-acre) park is a mature semi-wild woodlot of cedar, maple and beech trees.
  
  
• Reesor Park
  Location: On the East side of Wootten Way North, just South of Ramona Boulevard
  
  This 3.48 hectare (8.5 acre) park is home to the Markham Tennis Club and public sportsfields including 3 baseball diamonds, playground, 6 tennis courts and 3 soccer fields.
  
  
• Springdale Park
  Location: South of 16th Avenue, inside the Raymerville Street loop at the end of Norwich Drive.
  
  This 11 hectare (27.2 acre) park also includes open space and provides a wonderful mature woodlot and several recreational activities, which can be done using the playground and soccer field.
