FACILITY

This facility opened as the Risebrough Arena in 1982. Construction of a pool, community hall and library were completed in 1989 and the name changed to Milliken Mills Community Centre.

Milliken Mills Community Centre is managed by Bernie McDermott, Facility Coordinator. Clerical assistance for the facility is provided by Customer Service Representatives, assisted by part-time receptionists. Bernie at bmcdermott@markham.ca or 905-477-6410 ext. 3776. 

ARENA

The arena has an ice surface of 85 X 200 ft and is home to Unionville Minor Hockey Association and Markham Regional Ringette Association. Recreational ice skating is available at modest rates. For ice rental information, contact Maria Cufre at mcufre@markham.ca or 905-477-6410 ext. 3336.

COMMUNITY ROOMS

The community hall area consists of a large banquet room that can be divided into two smaller rooms with floor to ceiling dividing walls, two serving bars (one for each hall), a full kitchen, and various related amenities. Contact Maria Cufre at mcufre@markham.ca or 905-477-6410 ext. 3336 for information regarding renting the banquet room or one of the meeting rooms.

SOCCER DOME

The Soccer Dome, constructed in Spring 1998, is an air-supported structure. The playing surface is 118 ft. x 220 ft. with artificial turf. The Dome is home to Unionville/Milliken and Thornhill Soccer clubs' indoor leagues. For rental information, contact askorka@markham.ca or 905-477-6410 ext. 3322.

POOL

Milliken Mills Pool is under the jurisdiction of Marsha Mariani, Aquatic Coordinator, at kcarlin@markham.ca or 905-477-6410 ext. 3330. She is assisted by the Pool Supervisor, Adrian Wong at awong@markham.ca or 905-477-6410 ext. 3329.

This is a 25 metre/leisure pool combination with six lanes and a maximum depth of 8 feet. There is a ramped access for submersible wheelchairs, a shallow teaching pool, hot tub and sauna with separate temperature control, a large viewing gallery, and a water slide. Lessons at all levels are offered to those from 3 months of age (Waterbabies) through to adult programs as well as leadership courses and private/semi-private lessons.

The pool is utilized by the Markham Aquatic Club, Markham Synchro Club, Markham Masters Swim Club and elementary and high school programs and clubs.
