The following hazardous materials are just a few of the items around your home that require special disposal. Never place hazardous waste out with your garbage or recycling.

Hazardous Waste can be safely disposed of at the York Region Household Hazardous Waste Depot, located south of Miller Ave. on Rodick Rd.

Summer Hours: From April 1st to October 31st the Markham HHW Depot will remain open until 7:00 p.m on Thursdays.

	Poison Pesticides, chemicals, antifreeze, rat poison, cleaning fluids, compact fluorescent light bulbs and tubes, fertilizer, cosmetics, detergents, glues and adhesives, disinfectant, syringes and pharmaceuticals.
	Corrosive Batteries (wet and dry cell), drain cleaners, oven cleaner, bleach, electric thermostats with mercury and oven cleaners.
	Flammable Paints and solvents, oils and oil filters, gasoline fuels, brake fluid, hair colour, nail polish and nail polish remover and BBQ starter.
	Explosive Aerosols, hair spray, pool chemicals, propane and cylinders.

• Commercial, industrial, and medical office wastes
• Explosives
• PCBs
• Radioactive wastes
