Bring your household pails and lids to Markham's Recycling Depots

All plastic household pails and lids – round or square – are now accepted at Markham Recycling Depots. Even ones with a metal handle!

The only exception are pails that cannot be rinsed clean (eg. that have contained adhesives, driveway sealants or a similar substance).

Be sure to rinse and clean your pails before bringing them to the depot. Please note: These plastic pails are collected through recycling depots only and will not be picked up with blue box collection.

Acceptable pails types include ones used for:

• kitty litter
• bird seed
• laundry soap
• pool chemicals
• washable paints
• dishwashing soap
• cooking oil
• pet food
