Community Lead Testing Program Update - Round #4
The Town of Markham has successfully completed the third round of required water sampling for the Community Lead Testing Program.
Samples for the fourth round were taken between June 16, 2009 and October 3, 2009 from plumbing systems that serve private and non-private residences, as well as distribution system samples.
Summary Results (Fourth Round of Sampling (June 16, 2009 to October 3, 2009)
All sample results from the third round of testing were acceptable and below the Drinking Water Quality Standard for Lead of 0.010 (mg/L)

Locations Where Markham Tested
Markham tests more than the minimum required 100 locations were tested in the areas of Thornhill, Unionville, and Markham. A total of 148 residential sites were sampled for round four, 78 of these locations have been sampled during all four rounds of testing. The additional locations were taken from the existing volunteer database.

Next Round of Sampling
The Lead Test Program will continue with a fifth round of testing at the same locations between December 15, 2009 and April 15, 2009.
