You must have the Adobe Acrobat Reader installed to open PDF files.
If you having difficulty accessing, viewing, or downloading PDF files, below are few options to assist you:
| Upgrade to the latest version of Adobe Acrobat Reader |
If you have a version of Acrobat Reader less then 5.0, we recommend you update your reader to version 7.x.
Download the free Adobe Acrobat Reader from Adobe Website at http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html.
Once you have the Adobe Acrobat Reader installed, PDF files will automatically open in your browser when you click on a linked file with the .pdf extension.
- Right-Click on the linked file title.
- Select "Save Target As" (Internet Explorer) or "Save Link As" (Netscape/Firefox/Mozilla).
- Use Adobe Acrobat Reader to open the file directly after downloading.
| Disable Web Browser Integration |
It is an easy fix by changing an option in Acrobat Reader's preferences:
Adobe Acrobat Reader 5
- Close Internet Explorer.
- Launch the Adobe Acrobat Reader application.
- Select "Preferences" from the "Edit" menu and then click "Options".
- In the "Web Browser Options Area", deselect "Allow Fast Web View" and then click OK.
Adobe Acrobat Reader 6
- Close Internet Explorer.
- Launch the Adobe Acrobat Reader application.
- Select "Preferences" from the "Edit" menu.
- In the Preferences window, select "Internet" in the "Categories" pane on the left.
- You will see a number of options on the right side of the windows.
- Deselect "Allow Fast Web View" and then click OK.
**IMPORTANT** Some PDF files on the web site are very large. If you have trouble opening a large file, download the file and save it to your computer. Once saved to your hard drive the file should open more quickly.
