Winter Season


Winter Scene

Fresh Ontario grown fruit available during the
    winter are apples and pears.

Ontario grown vegetables available during the
    winter includes: carrots, cabbage, garlic, leeks,
    mushrooms, onions, parsnips, potatoes,
    rutabaga, and squash.

Install a programmable thermostat to reduce the cost of heating. Set it for
    21°C when you are in the house during the day, 18°C when you are sleeping
    and 15°C when you are out.

Consider making conservation a part of your holiday season.

- Replace your old holiday lights with LED lights
- Remember to bring your reusable tote bag when shopping
- Don’t use paper to wrap gifts — try reusable bags or newspaper
- Remember to put Christmas trees out for collection — it will be used
  as mulch in Markham parks
