The Torch is Coming to Markham

Markham Celebration Events

Join us to welcome the Olympic Flame as it stops in Markham on its way to Vancouver. Markham is a proud Celebration Community and we're throwing a party. Be a part of history and enjoy the festivities.

Celebration Parade - 9:30 a.m. to 10 a.m.
Markham Athletes and community groups march into the Markham Civic Centre to help begin the official ceremonies and entertainment. View Parade Route

Official Ceremonies & Entertainment - 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Official ceremonies with greetings from the federal, provincial representatives, and Mayor Scarpitti plus entertainment. The stage show includes the Markham Community Dance Troupe, Justin Hines, Suzie Mc Neil, The Leahy Family and Torch Relay sponsors.

Featured Performer - 12:30 p.m. to 1 p.m.
Suzie McNeil takes the stage and continues the celebration


Main Stage Entertainment & Festivities take place at:

Markham Civic Centre
101 Town Centre Blvd.
Markham, Ontario L3R 9W3
(northwest corner of Hwy. 7 and Warden Ave.)

For those with accessibility or accommodation requirements, attendant care will be provided.
