 Marriage Licences

Couples are required by the Marriage Act of Ontario to obtain a marriage licence before a ceremony can be performed. The Act also requires that a member of the clergy, the Town Clerk or designate must be booked to perform the ceremony. Finally, two adults over the age of 18 must witness the ceremony and sign the marriage licence to validate it.

Marriage licences are issued Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. through the Town Clerk's Office at the Markham Civic Centre.

See more information on marriage licence requirements.
