• Markham and Unionville BIAs, Yonge Street and Victoria Square will be provided with the same service level (spacing approx. every 33m in each area). Note:  For this option, it is not practical to adjust spacing of barrels and baskets on Kennedy and Middlefield as most baskets are mounted on either street light standards or 8 x 8 posts opposite each light standard • Eliminate barrels and baskets on Denison Street (west of Gorvette and east of Mallory/Teddington). • Program to be implemented in areas where there is insufficient boulevard area to plant more traditional flower beds or other streetscape enhancements
Revised February 2nd, 2009 • Eliminate barrels and baskets on Denison Street (west of Gorvette and east of Mallory/Teddington) and introduce pilot project for new water-reservoir planters on day-lighting triangles at signalized intersections Denison including; Eden/Aldergrove; Brimley; Hilcroft; McCowan (subject to Region approval); Coppard; Featherstone; Coxworth; and Markham Road • Eliminate barrels and baskets at Town Facilities (maintain 4 planter boxes at Seniors’ Centre) • Eliminate barrels and baskets on Denison Street, Kennedy Road, Middlefield and Victoria Square
• Look at options to enhance streetscapes fronting Town owned parks and Facilities along Denison (i.e. Denison Park, Armadale C.C., etc.) • 20% reduction in barrels and baskets for BIAs, Yonge Street, Victoria Square, Kennedy and Middlefield • Eliminate barrels and baskets on Main Street Markham and Main Street Unionville located outside the respective BIA areas
• Replace barrels and baskets with water-reservoir planters at Town Facilities. • Eliminate barrels and baskets on Main Street Markham and Main Street Unionville located outside the respective BIA areas • 20% reduction in barrels and baskets for Markham and Unionville BIA areas
