Trees For Tomorrow

Trees for Tomorrow

"During the next four years, we will plant more trees than we have planted in the last decade, making Markham a greener and better place to live and work."

~ Mayor Frank Scarpitti, December 2006

Markham Trees for Tomorrow is a commitment to plant 75,000 trees by the end of 2010. On May 30, 2010 Mayor Scarpitti announced that Markham had planted 125,000 trees.

Trees for Tomorrow plantingWe are asking you to get involved. Participate in community tree plantings, plant a tree on your own property, and look after your boulevard tree.

Why plant a tree? Trees help the environment, the economy and our overall well-being. Trees clean the air and absorb noise. They provide shade and wind-protection that can help to reduce utility costs and they add to property values.

Be part of Markham’s tree planting program. Leave a legacy.
