Parks, Greenlands, and Streets are important public spaces within every community
The City takes great pride in the design of its parks and tries to make each one unique.
A 10 acre park will be the central urban space within Markham Centre. The park will be framed by residential buildings with retail shops at-grade, and will feature a variety of uniquely programmed spaces and views of the valley lands.
The Rouge River and Beaver Creek Valley systems have powerful influences on Markham Centre, which is being designed to protect and enhance these natural environmental systems.
A passive trail network is proposed to provide recreational opportunities in a series of connected urban parks and valley land spaces.
