Plan an Event

Thank you for your interest in holding an event or activity with the City of Markham. Our Special Event team is available to assist in the coordination of local activities and events, making it easier for you to get the support you need – from picnic tables to road closures.

Application Submission Process

  1. Fully complete and sign the required forms
    1. If your event or activity will include the use of public property – including sidewalks, pathways and parks – you must complete an Event Application Form.
  2. Send the completed document to Markham’s Special Event team at:
    1. specialevent@markham.ca OR
    2. Fax 905.475.4741
  3. Once received, a Special Event team member will review the completed and signed application forms.
  4. The event organizer will be contacted by a member of the Special Event team to confirm if your event has been approved, or if we need more information.

Civic Centre Events

To book a room in the Markham Civic Centre for a small community meeting for less than 80 attendees, please complete the online Civic Centre Room Booking Form.
