2014 Election Campaign Financial Statements

The Municipal Elections Act, 1996, (Act), Subsection 88 (9.1) requires that the Clerk and Returning Officer post online candidates financial statements from the October 27, 2014 Municipal Election.

Before proceeding, please review Important Notes below.

Documents are scanned in an unalterable PDF format and posted in the appropriate section below. Hard copies of financial statements are available for public inspection during regular business hours (Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM) at:

Important Notes:

  1. Pursuant to the Municipal Elections Act, 1996 (Act), the original copies of the candidates’ financial filing statements are filed with the Clerk’s Office, 101 Town Centre Boulevard, Markham and are available for public inspection during regular business hours.

  2. Candidates are wholly responsible for ensuring their financial statements are completed accurately and completely in accordance with the Act. The financial statements submitted by candidates will be posted as submitted by the candidate. They will not be verified or amended in any way by City of Markham staff except to redact portions of a financial statement indicating contributors $100 or less.

  3. In situations where a candidate files multiple financial statements (e.g. those who extend their campaigns and file a supplementary financial statement pursuant to the Act), all statements will be shown. In the case of candidates who have not filed by the legislated dates, the most recent filed financial statement, if any, will appear on this web page. However, a Notice of Default provided for under Subsection 80 (3) of the Act will appear in the heading “Notices of Default”.

  4. The financial statements posted do not pertain to the City of Markham’s election contribution rebate program.
