Development Charges By-laws

The Council of The Corporation of the Town of Markham passed By-laws Nos. 2009-120 on June 23, 2009 pursuant to Section 2 of the Development Charges Act, 1997, S.O. 1997, c.27. The aforementioned by-law came into force and effect on June 23, 2009.

The aforementioned by-law is a town-wide by-law setting development charge rates for residential and non-residential development for certain services on a municipal-wide basis.

The development charges established through By-law No. 2009-120 are as follows, on a per unit basis for residential development and on a per square metre basis for non-residential development.
