Supported Player Clients & Devices
The webcast supports streaming to many types of devices, including PCs, Macs, iPhones/iPads and other devices supporting HTTP Live Streaming (HLS), Android smart phones/tablets, other 3GPP smartphones/tablets, etc.
Supported Browsers: Firefox 3.0 and above, Internet Explorer 11 and above, Google Chrome 4 and above (Please install the latest version).
For the best experience when viewing webcast, we recommend using Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox.
Internet Explorer users should aware that Livestream recommends version 11. If Internet Explorer not displaying video, open the "Tools" tab and select "Compatibility View Settings", in the Compatibility View Settings box, uncheck all the boxes, close and restart the browser.
Livestream plays in a format will require Adobe Flash Player 10.0.32 or above. Download the most recent version of Adobe Flash Player at http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html.
Please remember to check your volume setting before trying to access the webcast! Enough dedicated Internet bandwidth is required to receive the webcast - 32kbps is required for the webcast.

Internet Connection Speed
For a reliable viewing experience at medium quality we recommend a downstream connection speed of at least 700kbps. You can test your connection speed by visiting http://www.speedtest.net/, we recommend testing several times as bandwidth can fluctuate.
Buffering
If your player stops during the program, refresh / reload the Web page or press the play button to initiate the webcast again.

Firewalls and Web Proxy Issues
For some users, especially those who are connecting to City of Markham Online from inside a firewall (such as inside a corporate or educational institution), you may find you are unable to use the media services. Some organizations will not allow you to use streaming services. Contact your computer system administrator or IT (Information Technology) department to see if streaming is allowed, or what changes you need to make to the settings in your player.
