The Town of Markham employs nearly 1000 regular full-time staff (including Markham Public Library staff) supported by part-time and temporary staff during peak seasons. The municipality hires staff to support the various services delivered to the public including development planning, building, infrastructure, parks and roads maintenance, by-law enforcement, recreation and culture, library, and fire and emergency among others.
