Within Markham, there are numerous residents who donate their time and knowledge to charities and service clubs, community cleanups, sports, school and youth groups, hospitals, seniors homes and through many other causes and organizations that benefit the community. The direct and indirect services provided by these volunteers are essential to ensuring a vibrant, healthy Markham.
The Volunteer Orientation Workshop is mandatory for anyone wishing to volunteer in the Recreation Department; while it does not guarantee a placement, it's a great step to be prepared! For more information on how to apply and the services we offer, visit the Volunteering in Recreation section.
If you are someone who enjoys volunteer work, we'd like to hear from you!
