Canada 150 Youth Outreach Initiative

The City of Markham was fortunate to receive a grant from the Government of Ontario to support youth outreach in South East Markham. This exciting opportunity will enable us to deliver a variety of services for youth including an outreach worker on site, a youth drop-in at Armadale Community Centre is open 4 – 8 pm, free basketball drop in after school and life skills workshops for youth. This project will provide free access to services such as informal counselling, pre-employment services, housing services, recreation, life skills, and access to other resources for youth in Markham. The initiative is implemented in partnership with a number of community agencies include 360 Kids, Social Services Network and the Centre for Immigrant and Community Services (CICS).

Community Hub: Partnerships with Community Organizations

Perhaps one of the most unique features of Aaniin is our model to serve as a community hub representing a variety of health and wellness related services. The response from community has been extremely positive. Community workshop calendars are being developed now and we are looking forward to sharing all the available resources online.
