Borrowing

The Markham Public Library has a collection of over 700,000 paperbacks, books, magazine and newspaper subscriptions, cassettes, CD-ROMs, music CDs, DVDs, videos and video games.

Extended Loans 

  • Available, upon request, for items that are not in demand.
  • These loans are granted for absences such as vacations or hospital stays.
  • Extended loans are available at the discretion of Library staff. We reserve the right to limit or deny extended loans on specific items.

Returning Items

Borrowing Limits

  • The total number of items that can be borrowed on a single library card at any one time is 100.
  • Reduced loan periods apply to items with holds.
