Markham Museum is looking for some enthusiastic, energetic people to volunteer during special events and educational programs.
As a volunteer you will build leadership skills, learn how to work has a team, and help families get the most out of their visit!

Volunteering at Markham Museum Summer Camp 2012
Markham Museum is looking for enthusiastic,

Requirements
- Be ready to have fun with the campers!
- All volunteers must be 14 years of age or older
- Be available a minimum of one full week from Monday to Friday
About the Camps
Markham Museum offers a variety of full-day 9am-4pm and half-day 9am-12pm camps to children ages 3-13 years of age. Some of the exciting themes for this summer are: Junior Gardeners; History Mystery; Eco-Detectives; Archaeology; Marvellous Machines; Mini Machines; Fashion, Fabric and Fun; Survivor Camp; Museum Explorer, and Investigation H2O. The Museum’s camps offer a unique hands-on educational experience on the Museum’s amazing 25 acres of parkland and throughout its more than 20 historic buildings.
HOW TO APPLY FOR SUMMER CAMP VOLUNTEERING OR TO BECOME A MENTOR
NEW volunteers:
If it’s your first time volunteering at the Museum follow these instructions:
- You must complete a “volunteer application” and submit it along with a copy of your Police Check to mwright@markham.ca or drop it at the Museum

- You will need to book an interview. Note that you need both your volunteer application and police check completed and submitted before your interview.

- Identify the week(s) of camp that you are interested in volunteering and book your mandatory training. If you have any conflict regarding the training, please email dzambrano@markham.ca

RETURNING Volunteers
If you volunteered at the Museum before and want to return as a volunteer, you only need to book your training and check the weeks that you want to volunteer. Note: If your police check is more than two years old then you will need to submit a new one.

Become a MENTOR:
If you have at least 20 hours of experience at Markham Museum and you are looking to do more in your community, become a volunteer Mentor! As a part of MY Community, you will work together with your peers to mentor new youth volunteers, as well as develop your personal and professional skills through fun activities, workshops, and field trips.
- If you would like to volunteer as a mentor this summer you will need to book an interview. Note that you must have submitted a police check within the last two years to qualify for an interview. Book an interview online
