Green Thumb Theatre presents Out In The Open

School Matinees Series

Dear Educators,

We are excited to bring you the Award winning Theatre Group – Green Thumb Theatre to Flato Markham Theatre presenting “Out In The Open” for one day only, Dec 4th, 2012, at 10:30am and 1:00pm.

Green Thumb Theatre creates and produces plays that explore social issues relevant to the lives of children, youth and young adults. Theatre that celebrates the language and stories of today's generation and culture to stimulate empathy, debate and critical thinking. Out in the Open is an honest look at homophobia, friendship, social pressure and navigating the complicated truths of teenage relationships.

Grades Recommended:Middle–High Schools.

Running Time: 55 min + Q&A

 

This play deals with the issues of  Homophobia, bullying, friendships, and social pressures.  The production is complimented by an in-depth study guide which aids the teacher and school to discuss stereotypes and bullying and has a Step by Step guide to developing and implementing an Anti-bullying program within your school!  The play acts as a catapult for discussing these delicate issues that are sometimes  difficult to effectively impact our youth.

Flato Markham Theatre offers a select number of educational shows during the 2012-2013 Season. All performances are 60 minutes in length.

Tickets: $10.00 plus HST
