Markham is a bicycle-friendly community.
We are developing a network of almost 400 km of on and off road bicycle routes. When complete, the cycling network will include on-road signed routes and bicycle lanes, and off road multi-use pathways.

Street Signs
Look for the "bike route" signs installed on local streets and remember to "Share the Road" with cyclists.
The Cycling Network initiative is guided by Markham's Cycling Master Plan, developed with the assistance of a citizen committee - the Cycling and Pedestrian Advisory Committee - and with additional input from interested residents. The City of Markham recognizes the contribution of the Federal Gas Tax Initiatives to this project.
