Markham's Swimming Programs
The City of Markham offers swimming lessons and drop ins to meet every schedule and every need. Whether it's swimming lessons for a family with multiple children, small group lessons, private lessons, or just coming in for some exercise, we have it! Our Swim Instructors and Lifeguards are highly trained individuals with a passion for teaching and for swimming. Learn from the best with our programs and keep going! Become and Instructor and/or Lifeguard - it makes a great part time job!

Group Swimming Lessons
We offer swimming lesson for groups, small groups, private lessons, family lessons, preschoolers, children, teens, adults and seniors. All of our swimming pools in Markham offer lessons.
Whether it's trying something new, getting some exercise, re-kindling a passion or socializing with friends, aquafitness is a great, affordable way to get out and get fit.
Private Swimming Lessons
We offer private swimming lessons for those looking for a bit more attention. This is a great way to spend time working on specific skills to enhance your swimming abilities.

Drop-in and Lane Swimming
Drop by the pool to swim laps, play with your child, slide down the water slide, take a sauna, sit in a whirlpool, participate in an aquafit class, or do some therapeutic exercise. Swimming is a great way to keep fit and healthy while doing something you love.

2017 Scheduled Pool Closures
- Milliken Mills Pool
The pool will be closed from March 18 to April 7, reopening on April 8.
Red Wrist Band
- 5 years of age and younger.
- Must be accompanied by a guardian (15+).
- Must be within arms reach at all times.
- 1 guardian: 2 children (no exceptions)
Yellow Wrist Band
- Ages 6-9
- Must swim with a guardian
- 1 guardian: 6 children (all in PFD's)
- 1 guardian: 2 children (no PFD's)
Green Wrist Band
- Ages 6-9
- Passes swim test
- May swim alone
10 years of age or older? Unaccompanied. It's always recommended to swim with a buddy!
