Licence Applications and RenewalsLicence Purchase and Renewal

You can purchase or renew a pet licence online, at the Markham Civic Centre, or at select locations in Markham.

Why Should I License My Pet?

Dogs and cats must be licensed annually with the City of Markham even if they have a micro chip implant. Licensing your dog or cat plays a critical role in identifying your pet should it become lost.

By purchasing a dog or cat licence, your pet also qualifies for a Free Ride Home should your pet become lost, and is found or surrendered to the OSPCA.

Owners of unlicensed pets are subject to a fine.
