Fire Safety Videos

Our fire safety videos have been created to address the typical questions we receive when we are out in the public at community events. The topics covered are smoke alarms, carbon monoxide detectors and fire extinguishers. Each video is short so that you can gather the specific information you need. The videos are also offered in 5 languages: English, Chinese, Farsi, Greek and Tamil. We will continue to produce additional videos in the future that will cover even more topics as well as additional languages.
TVOKids - Everybody Help Out campaign

Emergency Management
Markham's Emergency Management Program is under the Office of the Commissioner of Community and Fire Services.
Working closely with Markham Fire and Emergency Services, the Emergency Preparedness Coordinator for Markham focuses on ensuring that Markham meets all the legal requirements set out in the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act in Ontario.
One of the most important roles of the Markham Emergency Management Program is public education in emergency preparedness.
The Emergency Preparedness Coordinator participates in municipal events and provides public education in emergency preparedness to interested community groups.
If you would like to have an emergency preparedness presentation for your community group, contact Sonia Singh, Emergency Preparedness Coordinator, 905-477-7000 ext. 2471 or email Sonia at ssingh@markham.ca
