Emergency Management

Markham's Emergency Management Program is under the Office of the Commissioner of Community and Fire Services.

Working closely with Markham Fire and Emergency Services, the Emergency Preparedness Coordinator for Markham focuses on ensuring that Markham meets all the legal requirements set out in the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act in Ontario.

One of the most important roles of the Markham Emergency Management Program is public education in emergency preparedness.  The Emergency Preparedness Coordinator participates in municipal events and provides public education in emergency preparedness to interested community groups.

If you would like to have an emergency preparedness presentation for your community group, contact Sonia Singh, Emergency Preparedness Coordinator, 905-477-700 ext. 2471 or email Sonia at ssingh@markham.ca
