Reduce wind-blown litter from your blue box!
- Put your material at the curb by 7 AM the morning of your collection day, instead of the night before
- Don't overload your blue box; keep material below the rim
- Bundle newspapers and place on top of lighter items
- Flatten small cardboard boxes (e.g. cereal or tissue boxes)
- Additional blue boxes can be purchased at any Markham Recycling Depot and you may also drop off your blue box recycling
- Write your address on your blue boxes in permanent marker – this makes it easier for them to be returned if they blow away
Reminder: Do not bag recyclables; material must be loose in your blue box. Plastic bags are not accepted in the blue box. Drop off your plastic shopping bags at any Markham Recycling Depot for recycling
