Markham is on the road to becoming a bicycle-friendly community by developing a network of almost 400 km of on and off road bicycle routes. This initiative is guided by Markham's Cycling Master Plan, developed with the assistance of a citizen committee - the Cycling and Pedestrian Advisory Committee - and with additional input from interested residents. When complete, the cycling network will include on-road signed routes and bicycle lanes, and off road multi-use pathways.
