The City's parking regulations prohibit overnight parking on the street between the hours of 2:30 a.m. – 6:00 a.m. throughout the City, unless otherwise specifically posted, or if a parking permit program is in place. There is a $50.00 fine for this infraction.

Exemptions are granted for driveway repairs and out of town overnight guests.

It is important to remember that a parking exemption will not prevent you from getting a ticket or being towed if your vehicle obstructs snow clearing or road maintenance operations. The fine for interfering with snow removal is $150.00.

EXEMPTIONS ARE NOT GRANTED DURING INCLEMENT WEATHER.

In addition, exemptions are not granted for commercial vehicles, boats/trailers, school buses, recreational vehicles, unplated vehicles, habitual offenders with outstanding parking infractions and persons who have exceeded their exemptions for the year.

There is a limit of 5 exemptions per plate per year.

Dumpsters/container bins require a road occupancy permit.

In order to obtain this exemption, the following information is required: NAME, ADDRESS, PHONE #, VEHICLE LICENSE PLATE NUMBER and LENGTH OF TIME exemption is required.

***All overnight exemption requests must be received before 1:00 a.m.

Exemptions required for more than a 3 day period, must be requested during office hours, which are Monday to Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. by calling 905-477-7000 ext. 2050.
