Traffic Operations oversees the safe and efficient flow of traffic on approximately 1800 kilometres of roads with 60 signalized intersections, and 200 all-way stop controlled intersections. We warrant and install all-way stops and traffic signals, establish posted speed limits, implement parking restrictions, conduct various vehicular and pedestrian traffic studies and oversee the administration of the School Crossing Guard and Markham Safe Streets Programs.
