Many Faces of Markham

The City of Markham and the Markham Race Relations Committee present Many Faces of Markham on Saturday, March 24, 2018. This annual cultural celebration is held in recognition of the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, as designated by the United Nation General Assembly in 1966 to pull together international communities in the fight against racial discrimination in all forms.

This year’s theme is ‘Unity Through Diversity: Protecting Human Rights and Promoting Inclusion’ and supports the municipality’s commitment to the Canadian Coalition of Municipalities Against Racism and Discrimination (CCMARD) and their focus to promote respect, understanding and appreciation of cultural diversity and the inclusion of racialized communities into the cultural fabric of the municipality.
