Working at the City of Markham

The City of Markham employs approximately 1,000 regular full time staff across over 20 business units, and depending on the season, is supported by 1,300 to 1,800 part time, seasonal and temporary staff. Markham has three unions (and Markham Public Libraries has two unions). We hire staff to support the various services delivered to the public. Positions range from development planning, parks and roads maintenance, engineering, administrative and building inspections, to firefighters, technologists, financial analysts, by-law enforcement and recreation and culture programming staff.
