Markham Expo 150 Berczy Statue Dedication Ceremony

Berczy Square at Nipigon Avenue (northeast corner of 16th Avenue and Kennedy Road)

Located at Berczy Square in Upper Unionville, this monument pays tribute to one of Markham's founders. William Berczy was a protector and mentor to those he helped settle, and was also recognized in his own time as one of Canada's finest painters. The ceremony will include a dedication of the William Berczy statue, official opening of Berczy Square, a dedication from the Federal government and the official opening of Askel Rinck Drive.

City officials will be joined by international delegates from two of Markham’s sister cities: Town of Cary, North Carolina and Nördlingen, Germany. 

Parking will be made available across the street at the Montessori School (northwest corner of Kennedy Road and 16th Avenue).
