Joint Compliance Audit Committee

York Region municipalities are currently in the process of selecting members for the Joint Compliance Audit Committee.

This independent committee is appointed under the Municipal Elections Act, 1996 to consider questions around potential instances of campaign finance non-compliance occurring in the 2022 Municipal Elections (and any subsequent by-elections).

The Committee will review each case and determine whether to recommend further investigation and/or legal proceedings.
