Enforcing COVID-19 Regulations

Working 24/7 to keep Markham safe

The Government of Ontario has enacted legislation to prevent the spread of COVID-19. The enforcement of laws and emergency orders continues to be a priority.

York Region Public Health inspectors and the City of Markham’s Municipal Law Enforcement Officers are able to enforce COVID-19 related regulations under the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act and Reopening Ontario Act.

Businesses and individuals who fail to comply with COVID-19 safety measures will be ticketed and subject to fines, and repeat offenders could face temporary closures.

We all need to do our part in an effort to protect our business community and one another.

Businesses and residents in compliance with COVID-19 regulations – we thank you.
