The Government of Ontario recently released its new COVID-19 response framework to ensure public health measures are targeted, incremental and responsive, while keeping schools and businesses open, maintaining health system capacity and protecting vulnerable people.
In response to the rapid increase in COVID-19 cases, the City of Markham is in CONTROL-RED Zone. As of Monday, November 23 at 12:01 AM, the City’s private gathering limits will be as follows:
Individuals should limit travel to essential trips only and limit close contact to members of their household only. Individuals who live alone, including seniors, may consider having exclusive, close contact with one other household.
During these challenging times, the health and safety of our community and employees is our number one priority.
The City of Markham’s COVID-19 Team is working closely with public health officials at the regional, provincial and national levels concerning the evolving novel coronavirus situation.
The City is taking a responsible and measured approach to reopening, which is guided by the Government of Ontario’s COVID-19 Response Framework: Keeping Ontario Safe & Open and the City of Markham’s Response, Recovery & Reinvention Plan.
