Follow the instructions on the York Regional Police website.
If you are under 18 years of age, you must go in person to apply and pick up your Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC). You will need a reference letter from the City of Markham.
A reference letter can be obtained by sending a request to firstname.lastname@example.org with your full, legal name and complete address. Please follow this step after you have set up your account and completed the interview.
York Regional Police will charge $30, instead of $70, if you bring a Volunteering Request letter.
Adults may go in person or apply online.
Take two pieces of valid identification (passport, birth certificate, Government issued identification card, citizenship, boating/fishing license, etc.) to the York Regional Police Community Resource Centre, along with a reference letter from the City of Markham.
Your identification must confirm your name, birth date and address. One piece of identification must have your photo. View list of acceptable identifications.
