Markham Creates Community Challenge

Finalists Announcement – July 1, 2020 at 10 AM!

Join Mayor Frank Scarpitti and representatives from the City of Markham’s Culture Department and Markham Public Library for the official unveiling of the Markham Creates Community Arts Challenge finalists, as part of the City’s Virtual Canada Day Celebrations.

The virtual initiative was launched in late May to get the community to unleash their creativity and showcase their talents while we physically distanced to help stop the spread of COVID-19.

Five finalists will be announced in each of the following categories:

  • Performing Arts
  • Visual Arts
  • Exhibit Design
  • Creative Writing

The 20 finalists will also get the special opportunity to be mentored in their field by professional artists such as Jully Black, George St. Kitts, John Abrams, Missy Marston and more.

Tune in on July 1, 2020 at 10 AM and celebrate our local artists on Canada Day. Because, Markham’s got talent!

Thank you to all who participated in the Markham Creates Community Challenge.
