Thornhill Village Branch

Built in 1851 as a private home, the building had various uses over the years, including as a feed store and a livery stable. It opened as a library in 1959. The ghost of Ellen Ramsden, the original owner of the house, is rumoured to make an appearance from time to time. The library and its resident ghost were featured in Deborah Kerbel’s 2010 book Lure. The branch is surrounded by a heritage garden designed and maintained in the Victorian style. Please be advised that the parking lot for Thornhill Village Library will be temporarily closed due to construction.
