You will need to pay service charges in these situations:

  • You return an item after its due date
  • You lose your library card
  • Your cheque is returned NSF (non-sufficient funds)
  • You lose or damage library items
  • You use a fee-based service

Remember that you will not be allowed to borrow any new items if:

  • You owe more than $20 in service charges
  • You have 10 or more items marked “claimed returned”

Late Return Charges

Late return charges apply to all library users regardless of age, including seniors. This fee is applied when library materials are not returned by their due date.

Lost Library Cards

You must report a lost library card immediately. This will prevent other people from using your card. A $2 service fee will be charged to replace a lost card.

Damaged or worn-out cards will be replaced for free.

NSF Cheques

If your cheque to us is returned “NSF”, you will be charged a $43.50 administration fee.

Lost or Damaged Items

If you lose or damage a library item, you will be charged a replacement fee. The fee will vary depending on the item. We cannot accept replacement copies.

Fee-Based Services

Some of the library’s services require a fee to use. These include:

  • Photocopying or printing
  • Meeting room rentals
  • Proctoring
  • Selected Library programs
  • Library camps
  • 3D printing and material costs in Makerspace
