During construction and at the time of occupancy building officials inspect a building for compliance with the building permit documents and the Ontario Building Codes.
It is the responsibility of the Owner to notify the City at prescribed stages of construction so that inspections can be arranged.
Inspections can be requested online using our Public Inspection Request Portal. Approved Plans can be downloaded through the ePLAN account. The Owner will receive account registration instructions in a Congratulations letter sent after the permit is issued.
Contractors or other site staff can request ePLAN access to the permit by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. The request must include the permit number and written authorization from the Applicant or Owner to grant them ePLAN access to that specific permit. Note: only one individual that is not the Applicant or Owner will be granted ePLAN access to a permit.
