A subdivision is a parcel of land that has been divided into several blocks or lots. It identifies the exact surveyed boundaries and dimensions of the blocks and lots on which buildings are to be built, location, street names, and locations for parks, schools and other community facilities. If an applicant proposed to create new separate parcels of land that can legally used for the sale of lots, then they must apply for a Plan of Subdivision.
A Plan of Subdivision must be approved by Council (Draft Plan Approval) and registered in order for the blocks and lots to be legally sold of conveyed separately.
