Furniture & Bulky Items

Furniture & Bulky ItemsBroken bulky items are collected every other week on your regular Clear Bag Garbage collection day. You don't need an appointment. Items must be placed neatly at the curb by 7 AM. If you are in an apartment or condominium, contact your property manager.

Bulky items include:

  • Couches
  • Chairs wooden, plastic
  • Mattresses
  • Toilets
    • 2-piece toilets must be separated when set out at the curb. The tank must be detached from the bowl for the health and safety of the collectors.
    • 1-piece toilets (tank and bowl are one unit) can be set out as is.

Local charities accept donations of new and gently-used home furnishings, appliances and renovation items. Always check with the charity to confirm if your item is acceptable, drop off instructions or to possibly arrange for a free home pick-up.
